What changed after NEET UG 2026

• NEET UG 2026 was held on May 3, 2026 in pen-and-paper mode, with over 22 lakh candidates appearing.
• Following a paper leak, NTA cancelled the May 3 exam on May 12, 2026 and scheduled a re-examination on June 21, 2026.
• In response, the Government announced that NEET UG would shift to CBT mode from 2027, and a high-powered panel is working on reforms to the exam process.
• The syllabus is expected to remain the same. Only the mode of conducting the exam changes.

What this means for you: the subjects and syllabus stay the same, but you should start practising on a computer screen. Attempt timed, on-screen mock tests so that reading questions online, navigating between questions and managing time feel natural before exam day.

The NEET registration process is conducted entirely online through the official National Testing Agency (NTA) NEET portal. The application process follows a strict 4-step sequence.

Step 1: Online Registration

• Visit the official NTA NEET website and click on "New Registration".
• Provide basic information including your name, parents' names, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
• Generate a secure password and submit the details.
• Complete the OTP verification sent to your registered mobile number and email to generate your unique Application Number.

Step 2: Filling the Application Form

• Log in using your newly generated Application Number and password.
